There are many walks of varying
distances around Froge Basse, from as little as half an hour
to all day, along the country tracks (called "chemin rural"
on the map)

From these walks it is very
easy to link into the walks around Abjat to the north east,
Augignac and St. Estephe to the north west and St Pardoux la
Rivière to the south. From St Pardoux, the old railway
line to Thiviers has recently been opened as a walking path
all the way to Thiviers (the `Chemin Vert') -- 18 kms long!
The GR4 (one of the Chemins
de Grande Randonnée across France) passes through Augignac,
les Chadauds and Abjat., and in addition to this, local walks
around Nontron, Abjat, St Pardoux, and Champs Romain have been
fully marked with trail signs. |
